Force sensor

A single-chip force sensor uses four piezoresistive resistors on a MEMS chip to form a Wheatstone bridge structure. When an external force acts on the device, causing deformation, the resistance values of the piezoresistive resistors change accordingly. Due to the different placement of the resistors, their resistance values change differently, resulting in a differential analog signal output from the Wheatstone bridge.

Single-chip force sensor: Four piezoresistive resistors on the MEMS chip form a Wheatstone bridge structure. When an external force acts on the device, the device deforms, and the resistance values of the piezoresistive resistors change accordingly. Due to the different placement positions of the resistors, the resistance values also change differently, and the Wheatstone bridge produces an analog differential signal output.

Integrated force sensor: A MEMS force sensor chip and a signal processing ASIC chip are integrated in a single package. The ASIC performs signal amplification, ADC conversion, and signal processing. When a pressing action occurs, an interrupt signal is output on the INT pin. Each device is calibrated before leaving the factory to ensure output consistency. In the whole machine application, the threshold register is configured through the I2C interface, and the main control can flexibly set different pressing thresholds for different models, and can also achieve the zeroing function to eliminate the pre-pressure during assembly.
